I was at this concert the other night, it was to celebrate the day 08-08-08, which means we'll probably have a couple more concerts in the coming years celebrating 09-09-09, 10-10-10, 11-11-11 and 12-12-12.
Back on topic, The Concert was more of a mini concert or should I say gig, it had a line up of percussionists, Rock bands and some Poetry, the setting was an abandoned house deep in the heart of Beirut between tress and in a jungle like surrounding .

Generally the idea of being in the middle of trees and a somewhat isolated surrounding outdoors just a few steps away from the heart of a very very noisy and frustrating city like Beirut was nice, It was actually the highest point of the evening, I didn't take pictures unfortunately cause I came in a rush and didn't plan to end there so I didn't grab my camera.

The spots were pretty diverse, some were funny, others were boring and others were just awful, ofcourse every now and then a good tune or performance would come up, one had to applaud ... Generally not a bad evening, a good beer with good freinds and some music in a good surrounding, not a bad way to chill out after a long day at work but all this got me wondering about how selective one should be in his taste.

Taste for Music, Taste for Movies, Taste for Paintings and literature and Theater .... Is it good to be that diverse or should it be more focused ?? I always think about that and always favor the second one towards a more selective and focused taste of art, but you never know, I might be wrong !!

Yesterday was SysAdmin Appreciation day (SAAD), or maybe yesterday was the first time I knew this day even existed, cause I didn't know there was lot to appreciate the guys at IT for ... At least I know I don't exactly have that much to thank them for.

I work at as a Graphic Designer at a TV station, and for a line of work that is supposed to have top of the line support by the IT department, the support is kind of crappy.Sure they manage to replace the ink on your printer after a few days or track down a bug that's been F*****g up your computers for months but is that enough.

I think its really hard when the guy on top of you don't really appreciate or understand what you are doing, now one of the main fears of the guys at IT is security so they always try to block sites that are malacious but sites that they think are malacious might not be malacious (Like Crack sites and Torrent portals) and I sometimes resort to them to get on the scene instant solutions, But not anymore, they track every one of these sites down and shut them.

The guys at IT also might be driven by Corprate to take action against time draining sites like Social Networks and Flash gaming sites and Streaming Media Portals, But sometimes it feels they have taken it a bit too far .... IT has blocked a number of sites like Facebook and Myspace and some flash gaming sites but we were able to go around them using virtual browsers and hacks but now they got a new security system with its very own regularly updated Database, and its blocking everything, From Youtube and Google Video all the way to Newgrounds ... the resources have been drained to the minimal with just Deviant art of the patch opening.

Now what guys at IT fail to understand is that sometimes we use sites like Newgrounds for creative purposes like looking at other flash work for inspiration or using maybe sites like Youtube to research a certain theme or Idea and even maybe some Malacious sites to get some illegal tune when we don't have the time to go legal ... What they fail to realize is how we work and how this can affect our work.

Up until now this hasn't affected the quality of the work but it soon will, and we will see who will be the one leaughing then

Sysadmin appreciation day my ass, Sorry if there were any ITs around but these guys really p!ss me off, Arrogant bastards

Its been 2 or so years since I first joined newgrounds, Maybe I haven't added that much to newgrounds but Newgrounds had definetly added a lot to me, it has enriched my life and inspired me to go ahead and be more creative

My first Audio submission was approved today after all the Audio Mods had to do, I never thought it would make it ... Its not much really, just a 10 sec loop I'm planning on improving and working on in the future I hope ... Its not much and I really feel so small looking at all those good audio artists out there but it was a big step for me ... This was my first genuine attempt to make music instead of reproducing it and I won't think twice about doing it again and again

It has been a remarkable two years and now I finally understand Newgrounds and all my FAQs are answered , I remember my first encounter with Newgrounds was quite intimdating ... I don't know how I got here, Probably traced back some porn or something  But I'm glad I found you guys, Talking to new artists and animators makes me feel that I'm not alone outhere trying to find my way through Flash ..

It has been a remarkable two years and now I'm ready to make the first step from being a passive viewer to hopefully a more active contributor as I put the last touches on my first ever flash movie intended for uploading on Newgrounds and as I get ready to work on better and longer audio

It has been a remarkable two years and I hope it will be an eternity with Newgrounds as we all burn in hell one day ... Thank you Tom Fulp and Thank you Newgrounds for being a new ground for everything

Thank you Newgrounds
